DRUMMING, RHYTHM & YOGA REJUVENATION RETREAT IN COSTA RICA January 24-30, 2008 At Tierra de Milagros

Please join us for this transformational experience in a tropical rainforest paradise. Spend 6 luxurious days immersed in drumming, rhythm, music, yoga, organic cuisine, outdoor adventures and much more.  Retreat includes exploring:
 

MUSIC:

• Middle Eastern frame drumming and riq

• Ghanaian (West African) dancing and drumming

• Intro to North Indian Tabla drum

• Solkattu (Traditional rhythmic vocal exercises from South India)

• The art of improvising on hand drums

• Fun drum pieces to play solo and in duet

• How to notate music for hand drums

• Basic western music theory

• Basic vocal techniques

• Sacred chants from around the world.

RELAXATION:

• Yoga classes for all levels

• Beachfront Pranayama and Meditation classes

• Daily free time to explore Costa Rica’s natural wonders

• 3 organic meals per day

• Ocean front accommodations

• Sounds of nature at your doorstep 24 hours a day

Drums and yoga mats provided, but please bring a drum if you have one!! All drumming and yoga levels welcome, beginners are encouraged. 

SCHEDULE:

Mornings will include beach front meditation, yoga and drumming classes.

Afternoons will be left open for free time to explore the wonderful activities offered at the retreat center, followed by music programs each evening.

Surf Lessons, Horseback Riding, Waterfall Repel , Tree Climb and Repel, Dolphin Watch and Boat Tour, Kayaking , Bird Watching,  Massage and luxurious Jungle Facials/ Scrubs/ Wraps

ACCOMIDATIONS:

Retreat center is located right on the beach near a tropical rainforest. All of You will be sleeping in beautiful, hand crafted shared bungalows, each with their own shower and mosquito net, but no toilet facilities. There are three centrally located shared bathroom facilities. Please view Tierra’s  website for detailed pictures.

INVESTMENT:

$1075 per person before January 4, 2008 - $1175 thereafter. Price includes three organic meals a day, accommodations and all drumming and yoga classes. Airfare, transportation to and from airports, travelers insurance, and additional activities at Tierra de los Milagros are not included.  

HOLIDAY DISCOUNT:

PAYMENT:

Full- payment is due at time of registration, with a $500 non-refundable deposit. In the event that you need to cancel your trip and a replacement cannot be found, the full deposit will be forfeited.  If for any reason this retreat does not happen, you will be refunded 100% of  your money.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Please travel to San Jose and then take another plane to Puerto Jimenez . Travel arrangements can be arranged through Isabel at Osa Tropical. The friendly staff at Osa Tropical can coordinate all your domestic travel needs from flights to taxis, at no extra charge to you.

Sansa and Nature Air are the two airlines that have several flights daily to Puerto Jimenez. The flight is 50 minutes, and costs approximately $85 each way. The taxi ride from Puerto Jimenez to Tierra is 35 minutes and costs $25. Each taxi can hold 5 passengers ($5 each).

EMERGENCY
There is a 24-hour emergency plane in Puerto Jimenez.
We have a health clinic in Jimenez.
