The study of the influence of rhythm and tuning on consciousness is known as Nada Yoga. The Nada, the universal pulse of life, manifests within us as the sound of our own heart beat. For thousands of years, this primal beat has been represented by the sound of the drum. Drumming is one of the oldest practices for transforming consciousness. Through rhythmic repetition of
ritual sounds, the body, brain and the nervous system are energized and transformedThrough an in-depth study of traditional and non-traditional trance drumming and sound healing techniques, Marla will guide you on a deep journey that explores practical ways to use rhythm and sound to help nurture your psychological, spiritual and physical well-being; A participatory hands-on workshop where we will explore the principals of rhythm, drumming, melody,chant, harmony and sound healing.
This workshop is great for those wishing to deepen their understanding of drumming and rhythm, and those wish to explore music as a modality for self healing..

By tuning into your own inner rhythms, one becomes more in touch with their selves, crating harmony between life and the greater universalIn these special celebrations of music, Marla plays an array of sacred percussion instruments from around the world, (frame drums, tabla, dgembe, cajon to name a few), mixed with flutes, Hebrew and Sanksrit chanting and ambient electronics. She performs either as a soloist (where she uses a looping pedal to create full groovin compositions) or performs with her full ensemble.
Come dance, trance, and meditate to the ancient sounds of the sacred.
