“AHAVA” is the Hebrew word for LOVE! The intention behind this album is
how we can experience the medicine of LOVE through rhythm!
There are so many ways to express our longing for health, for cure, for
wholeness. Music responds to illness more naturally then speech. It allows
a rare opportunity for people to delve deep inside, to experience their
true selves, join us on this incredible journey….
When thinking of the theme for this album, Marla wanted to create
something that would blend her two passions together,
health/wellness/yoga and Judaism, and thus the title was born, Rhythms in
Ahava
Rhythms in Ahava will include very tasty compositions with ALOT of those
beautiful beloved frame drums, mixed with other percussion from the Middle
East, Africa and India, flutes, oud, sitar, saz, string arrangements,
harp, ambient electronics, with traditional and original Hebrew healing
prayers.
And for all you yoga lovers, the sequence of the tracks on this CD, will
be tailored to flow with that of a traditional Vinyasa style yoga class.
Rhythms in Ahava: A delicious, organic, non-alcoholic cocktail of sounds,
similar to that of Peter Gabriel’s “Passion”, Niyaz, Mickey Heart’s
“Planet Drum”, Buddha Bar compilations, and Dead Can Dance.
Be in the flow, be in the rhythms of Love, of AHAVA.
Marla is excited to be working with some of the finest musicians and
producers from both USA and Israel on this album, everyone is
pioneering in their field of expertise, some even Grammy winners ...
