FRAME DRUM, WORLD RHYTHMS + IMPROVISING
ONLINE 2 MONTH TRAINING PROGRAM
 Starts August 12, 2012

Are YOU ready to take your frame drum playing and rhythm skills to the next level?
If so, THIS is the program for you!

During this 2 month long program intensive, we will cover the basic + extended techniques in a three frame drum playing styles, including:

LAP STYLE:

  • Persian Rolls

  • Snaps

  • TRKT Fingerings

TAR STYLE:

  • Snaps

  • Rolls

  • Moroccan Flip

FREE HAND STYLE:

  • Tabla Fingerings + Phrasing

  • Snaps

  • Persian Rolls
     

 


WORLD RHYTHMS:
 

 

  • Learn how to play and improvise in challenging traditional rhythms from around the world.

IMPROVISING:

 

  • Study, in depth, how to EASILY improvise in any given meter using Solkattu (South Indian Rhythmic Vocalizations) and mathematics.

 

INDIAN MUSIC:

 

  • Learn about North and South Indian Drumming Traditions,
    (Koravia, Tihai, Solkattu, Thekas)
     

 

PLUS:

  • How to notate for frame drum (or any kind of hand drumming)

  • Homework given after each session

  • Workbook included (value $35)

  • 2 Private 60 min lessons (value $150)
     

 

 

PRE-REQUISITE:

  • Some prior hand drumming experience is suggested but not necessary

  • Computer with webcam and FAST internet connection.

DETAILS:

  • SESSION 1: August 12, 26, September 9, 23  @ 5pm  - 6:30 PST.

  • SESSION 2: August 12, 26, September 9, 23  @ 10am  - 11:30am PST.

  • Private Lessons: Your two private lessons will be scheduled once the class starts.

  • Space is limited to only 4 participants, so please RSVP to ensure your space

  • We will be recording each session if you can not make a session or wish to have it to refer to.

COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM FEE:

4 Classes + 2 One hour Private Lessons for only $275 if registrar before August 1, $299 thereafter.

  • Cancellation Policy We hold a non-refundable $50 deposit.

  • We will refund your payment fully before August 1, after that, we refund only 60%
