Marla is one of the few female specialists in the ancient Middle
Eastern drum called the Frame Drum. She received a Master of
Fine Arts in Percussion from California Institute of the Arts.
Emulating her teachers, Marla carries the gift of being an
inspiring, energetic and patient teacher who offers drumming
workshops and retreats in the USA, Canada and Mexico. She has
released “ Time Zone”, an instructional DVD for hand
drums and has designed her own signature series line of Frame
Drums with the Cooperman Drum Company. Her music can be heard on
Hala Khouri’s new yoga DVD, the film, “ Bold Native” and short
animation movie,” The Cellist”. Marla is currently working on
her landmark, debut World Music yoga and dance album entitled
“Rhythms in Peace”.
